Harrier Ridge Harrier Ridge is a brand from Terrace View in the Hawkes Bay region of New Zealand. The elevation of the vineyard spans more than 500 ft, containing soils ranging from volcanic rock in the river bed to farming soil at the top. This variation gives a unique ability in the region to grow varietals across more than 36 distinct micro-climates creating great complexity in the wines. Terrace View is also certified sustainable in New Zealand, and all of the pruning in the spring is done by local sheep.
Hawkes Bay: The Hawkes Bay region has been an abundant source of NZ wine making since the mid-19th century, and it has many of the same latitude locations as Bordeaux (if it was upside down!). It's coastal influence, sweeping hillsides, alluvial plains and river valleys allows for diverse and optimal wine production of all different varietals.
