We were promised perfection.

Sitting down at the lavish oak table in Maison Ginestet, we couldn’t help but be excited—even without knowing what was coming. The venerable house is one of the premier powerbrokers in Bordeaux and has become a must-stop at the beginning of every trip to France.

So when they set down a beautiful wooden box emblazoned with “600” across the top, we realized they meant it literally: a collection of six 100-point Bordeaux stars, each drawn directly from the château cellars—and only 300 sets would be available to the entire world.

Each set promises to be the highlight of any cellar: a sextet of perfect red wine, each an argument for the profundity and glory of Bordeaux—together, a chorus of vinous treasure.

Knowing that Maison Ginestet’s deep connections meant perfect provenance, we had to secure as many as we could for our members. The wines will depart from Bordeaux in the fall.

The set—which will arrive packaged handsomely in its original wooden box—is split evenly between the Left and Right Bank. It includes one bottle each of 2010 Château Léoville Barton (Saint-Julien), 2010 Château Pavie (Saint-Émilion), 2015 Château Bélair-Monange (Saint-Émilion), 2016 Château Pontet-Canet (Pauillac), 2018 Château Figeac (Saint-Émilion), and 2018 Château Pichon Baron (Pauillac).

The 2010 Pavie is one of the single greatest wines ever made by the revolutionary Right Bank château. Robert Parker called it “truly profound” and promised a 75-year lifespan for the wine. It’s beginning to open up today, showing the lush richness and flamboyant fruit that are signatures of the coveted property.

The 2010 Léoville Barton harnesses the classic power and structure of Saint-Julien in one of the Left Bank’s greatest vintages ever. Dark-fruited and loaded with structure, it’s a stately powerhouse of a wine that will captivate classicists. It should be the centerpiece of any meal for decades and decades to come.

Château Bélair-Monange’s 2015 is a perfect blend of Saint-Émilion’s opulence with the classicism and elegance prized by owner Christian Moueix—best known for his stewardship of Petrus and the creation of Dominus Estate in Napa. With a brilliant blend of dark fruit, elegant florals, and seamlessly refined tannins, it drinks beautifully now with a decant and will age gracefully for the next 30 years.

The 2016 Pontet-Canet needs very little introduction for Wine Access members. The Mouton-Rothschild neighbor continues to break ground in their commitment to quality, often adopting boundary-pushing—and, in some cases, traditional and counterintuitive—winemaking and vineyard practices before even the First Growths. This edition is classic Pauillac: Cabernet-drenched, dark-fruited, and holding infinite reserves of steely power beneath the surface.

2018 Château Figeac was long known best for being next-door to Cheval Blanc, but the estate is now making a play to be the best in Saint-Émilion, following the addition of the legendary Michel Rolland to the team in 2013. Their 2018 shows the power and intense fruit of the warm vintage in tandem with Figeac’s legendary terroir—a high-water mark for the venerable estate.

Finally, the 2018 Pichon Baron is the epitome of warm-vintage Paulliac. If you’ve ever wondered what 1947 Latour tasted like when it was young, then you owe it to yourself to put a bottle of this in your cellar. Dense and powerful, with the concentration of a neutron star, it’s perfect in its intensity.
